Materials:
Fabric A ¼ yard cut 3 strips Strip size = 2 ½" x 42"
Fabric B ¼ yard cut 3 strips Strip size = 2 ½" x 42"
Fabric C 3/8 yard cut 2 strips Strip size 4 ½" x 42"
Subcut into (18) 4 ½"x4 ½" squares
Inner Borders 3/8 yd cut 2 strips 2 ½" x 24 ½" for sides
cut 2 strips 2 ½" x 28 ½" for top & bottom
Outer Borders 7/8 yd cut 2 strips 5 ½" x 28 ½" for sides
cut 2 strips 5 ½" x 38 ½" for top & bottom
Backing 1 ¼ yd
Assembly:
Make 3 strip sets as shown below with your fabric A and B strips. Remember that accurate ¼" seams are a MUST throughout!

Press towards the dark fabric.
Cut the sets apart into (36) 2 ½" wide segments.
Make (18) four patch blocks as shown.

Arrange the four patch blocks and the 4 ½" squares of Fabric C into 6 rows across and 6 rows down.

Finishing:
Sew the inner border strips to the sides first, and then to the tip and bottom edges of the top.
Layer the quilt top and the backing with right sides together. Put the batting on top and pin all the layers together. Sew around the edges leaving an opening for turning. Turn the top right sides out. Batting should now be between the top and the backing. Whip stitch the opening closed.
Now you will need to tie the top to keep the batting from shifting in the laundry. To do this you will need the large eye needle and dmc floss, ribbon or pearl cotton to tie small knots in equally divided areas across the top.
You don't need a binding with this quick turn method.
Put a label on the quilt to record who made it, who it is for and where and when it was made.
You did it! I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy version of a four patch quilt.
